Union of the Parishes of Pegões is a portuguese parish in the municipality of Montijo, with an area of 79.77 km². It was created at the time of the administrative reorganization of 2012/2013, resulting from the aggregation of the former parishes of Santo Isidro de Pegões and Pegões.
The municipality of Montijo is located in the district of Setúbal, in the Greater Lisbon region and in the Setúbal Peninsula.
It has an area of 340.6 km2 and covers eight parishes: Canha, Montijo, Santo Isidro de Pegões, Sarilhos Grandes, Alto-Estanqueiro-Jardia, Pegões, Atalaia and Afonsoeiro.
The municipality of Montijo is intensely linked to the Tagus River since a large area of its territory is delimited by it.
It has a Mediterranean climate, with a dry period of 80 to 100 days, during the summer, in which the average temperature is around 29 ºC.
In winter, temperatures are moderate.
The popular and cultural events in the municipality include the popular festivals of St. Peter, held on June 29, the celebrations of the anniversary of the city of Montijo, on August 14, and the feast of ascension, on the last Sunday of August.
