Banks have again increased the value of the bank valuation carried out in the context of the granting of housing credit. In June, the median bank valuation value rose by one euro to 1,115 euros per square meter (m2), compared to the previous month, surpassing the record it had reached in May,according to, data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). The number of reviews, however, fell 27.5% compared to the same month last year.
"The median bank valuation value was 1,115 euros in June, one more euro than the previous month. This figure represented a slowdown in year-on-year terms, with the rate of change passed from 8.9% in May to 8.3% in June," reads the note ed by the statistics office.
At the regional level,the largest increase compared to the previous month was in the Alentejo (3.9%), and the only reduction was observed in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (-0.5%). The highest annual variation rate for all evaluations was found in the Autonomous Region of the Azores (12.9%) and the smallest in the Alentejo (5.8%), also underlines the INE.
In the month under review, the median bank valuation value of apartments was 1,209 euros per m2, up 8.4% compared to the same month. The highest value was recorded in the Algarve (1,519 euros per m2) and the lowest in the Alentejo (867 euros per m2).
The median value of the bank valuation of the houses was 971 euros per m2 in June, which represents an increase of 9.7% compared to the same month of the previous year. In this case, the highest values were observed in the Algarve (1,612 euros per m2) and in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (1,483 euros per m2), and the Centre recorded the lowest value (844 euros per m2).
